Dave Clarke writes about the exciting communications possibilities Microsoft are introducing around Office 365 and Skype for Business.
Now that Microsoft have launched Office 365 Enterprise E5 with PBX and PSTN options we have had a lot of people asking whether that is the only way forward for Cloud PBX and PSTN with Office 365.
The good news is that is one option, but there are multiple options for adding PBX functionality and PSTN calling to your Office 365 without the need for everyone to have E5 at £25.70 plus add ons!
The Benemen Platform already adds Cloud PBX and audio conferencing together with PSTN connectivity to Office 365 as part of a sophisticated, modern and enterprise grade telephony solution. It also integrates with mobile so that all devices become extensions within the same communications service. For users that do not require all of the enterprise features of voice enabled Skype for Business the Benemen Softphone adds voice to both the Business and Enterprise Office 365 versions that include the Skype for Business app. For example Office 365 Business Essentials, Business Premium, Enterprise E1 and E3.
The Benemen Cloud based PBX provides you with the ability to make and receive traditional phone calls in Office 365 from your Skype for Business client or Benemen Softphone and manage these calls with traditional phone system features.
One option for users of the Benemen Cloud PBX is to use the BeneDesk softphone. It works alongside the standard SfB in Office 365 and provides presence synchronisation as well as the option to dial out from SfB. Alongside the Enterprise E1 version the monthly Microsoft license per user is £5 and the Benemen service about £5 too.
Another option is to add mobile integration via a Benemen SIM for a small additional cost per month.
